Tai Sui
A millennium-turn urban fantasy steeped in folklore and disaster, Tai Sui pits Chinese and Fusang onmyoji against each other across two fractured timelines, 1932 and 1999. It blends Fusang sorcery, Xuanyue Sect Taoism, dragon vein mysteries, and the primal worship of Houtu, telling the story of Huo Zhe, a young laborer fated to become the Houtu Spirit Child.
Shanghai, 1999. Huo Zhe joins the enigmatic Yushan Group to save his sick grandfather. But employees keep disappearing in grisly fashion, plunging from heights, vanishing into the rumored B19 basement, stalked by writhing flesh tentacles that seem alive. Alongside Mr. Li, a repairman with a hidden past, and Susan, a pregnant woman searching for her lost husband, Huo Zhe uncovers a monstrous entity feeding on human lives beneath the skyscraper, and a conspiracy spanning decades. But his grandfather insists he stop digging. Meanwhile, a long-buried incident from 1932, and Huo Zhe's own blood-bound fate, begin to surface as crimson disaster looms.
